27 May 2008 16:10       hits 5060 Print version

Vyacheslav Uzelkov (18-0, 11 KO), WBA Inter-Continental light heavyweight champion and one of the key boxers of «K2 East Promotions» promotional company took part in shooting of a new Russian melodrama «A Story of a Man and a Woman» by famous scriptwriter and director Lev Karpov. A handful of famous Russian actors and actresses co-star in the film among which one can find Alexey Serebryakov, Maria Golubkina, Maria Aronova and Daria Moroz.

«A Tale of a Man and a Woman» – is a love story of an ordinary teacher of Russian literature and a plastic surgeon. Their lives became connected to each other due to a small traffic accident. The film will be released in summer of this year.

«Just after my February fight (with Julio Cesar Dominguez) Yegor Benkendorf, producer, phoned my managers and offered my appearing in a cameo in a new movie – Vyacheslav shared his impressions about his movies debut. – That was quite a new and thrilling experience to me so I agreed wholeheartedly – well, it was so interesting! My role was a simple one and it did not require much physical or psychological efforts. I even invented an attribute for my role – «smile-evoking». I played the role of a doctor who escorted a woman from the front door of her house to the ambulance and on our way to the car Alexey Serebryakov joined us and helped me. Then he offered me some money but I refused to take a bribe being an honest and decent servant of Hippocrates. That is all in fact. Despite the cameo is rather short in length I had to spend the whole day at the shooting area. But I liked it very much!»

- What was your impression about the atmosphere at the shooting area?
- Very, very positive. I never expected that I could attract so much attention. Especially it was nice to meet Alexey Serebryakov and work with him taking into consideration that I always liked his acting in movies. I met Maria Golubkina too – we did not commune much but I was pleased because I met daughter of celebrated Russian actor Andrei Mironov.

- Do you plan to proceed with your movie career in future?
- Many friends of mine are sure that I have some actor’s skills. Besides I easily remember texts, quotations and aphorisms; well, I also can sing a little. So in case I receive an offer to take part in some more shooting I will gladly accept it. Why not?
