Speaking with Primera Hora, WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto says he is fully prepared for April 12 title defense against Contender star Alfonso Gomez. Cotto is is just about done with his training camp in Puerto Rico and is preparing to leave for Atlantic City, New Jersey.
"Thanks to God that all the training went very well, like we expected. We should not have any problems in the fight. We are not expecting any problems with making weight and prepared to weigh-in and win the fight," Cotto said.
Cotto will leave for New York on Sunday around 1:30PM. After several pre-fight promotional activities in New York, Cotto will head to Atlantic City. The event will be televised on HBO.
The undercard features rematch between IBF welterweight champion Kermit Cintron and Antonio Margarito. The winner is expected to face Cotto on HBO pay-per-view in the summer.
