Carlos "El Indio" Quintana (25-1, 20 KOs) dethroned previously inbeaten WBO welterweight champion Paul "The Punisher" Williams (33-1, 24 KOs) on Saturday night at the Pechanga Resort & Casino in Temecula, California. As always, the 6'2 Williams kept his hands moving, but Quintana attacked relentlessly, connecting with the harder shots. Williams was cut over both eyes. Quintana won by scores of 115-113, 116-112, 116-112.
