Jesse Rodriguez, manager of WBC #2 heavyweight contender Juan Carlos Gomez, told Fightnews.com that Team Gomez is close to coming to terms with Arena Box-Promotion to fight under their banner when Gomez faces #1 rated Vladimir Virchis in a much anticipated WBC eliminator. Universum Box-Promotion, which won the right to promote the bout in a WBC purse bid, announced that the elimintor will take place on March 8th in Krefeld, Germany, however Rodriguez said Gomez cannot be ready by that date. "We're looking at March 29th or the first week of April," he stated.
