Bidenko and Boytsov win

20 Jan 2008 18:21       hits 4935 Print version

In the co-feature, Taras Bidenko defeated Cisse Salif by unanimous decision over twelve one-sided rounds. Bidenko was in control throughout the fight, landing crisp and clear combinations nearly at will. Salif seemingly waited for counter opportunities but rarely took them. He was looking to end the bout with one big punch. However, Bidenko was too quick and his defense was too good for the slow Salif, who, overall, gave a lackluster effort. It was a good win for Bidenko, who retained his WBA Intercontinental heavyweight title. Scores were 119-109, 118-110 and 120-108. Bidenko moves his record to 25-2, Salif falls to 22-9-2.

Undefeated heavyweight Vladimir Tereshkin scored a four round unanimous decision over journeyman Remigijus Ziausys. With the victory, Tereshkin moves to 6-0, however, it was the first time that he had to go the full distance.

Heavyweight prospect Denis Boytsov scored a devastating first round technical knockout over American Tommy Connelly. Boytsov, promoted by Spotlight Boxing, scored three knockdowns before the referee called the action. Time was 1:51. Boytsov kept his perfect record intact and moves to 20-0 with 18 big wins by way of knockout.
