Abraham TKOs Elcock in 5!

IBF middleweight champion "King" Arthur Abraham (25-0, 20 KOs) impressively took apart Wayne Elcock (18-3, 8 KOs) round by round on Saturday night at the St. Jakobshalle in Basel, Switzerland. Arthur dropped Elcock in round two and continued to dismantle Elcock, dropping the challenger again in round five before referee Wayne Kelly stopped the slaughter at the 1:58 mark. It was Abraham's sixth successful title defense.

An IBF Intercontinental heavyweight clash between Oleg Platov (26-1, 22 KOs) and former world title challenger and Mike Tyson conqueror Danny Williams (37-6, 30 KOs) ended in a no contest. Both fighters landed big shots in round one, but Platov was the more effective. Platov was cut over the left eye by a head clash in round two and was bothered by blood in his eye, even taking a knee at one point. Platov the fought back hard for the rest of the round. Williams came on in rounds three and four, but the cut continued to get worse and the bout was stopped by referee Earl Brown at 2:15 of round four.

EBU super middleweight king Cristian Sanavia (40-3-1, 12 KOs) and Danilo Häußler (29-3-1, 7 KOs) battled to a twelve round draw. Scores were 114-112 Sanavia, 114-112 Häußler and 113-113. Sanavia, a former WBC super middleweight champion, retains his European title.
