After the victory of Eddie Chambers (30-0, 16 KOs) on Friday night over Calvin Brock (31-2, 23 KOs) in the IBF tournament to name the number-one contender for IBF champion Wladimir Klitschko, the 25-year-old American will face Alexander Povetkin (14-0, 11 KOs) in a final eliminator. Last week, the 2004 Olympic Games gold medalist Povetkin stopped former heavyweight champion Chris Byrd (40-4-1, 21 KOs) in the eleventh round in Erfurt, Germany. Currently Povetkin is back in Tschechow, near Moscow, where he got the message that Chambers will be his next opponent. The Russian star is expecting a tough fight. "Now I know what will come up," said Povetkin. "Eddie Chambers after all has beaten the IBF #3 and he has won all 30 fights as professional. That sounds like an interesting job for me. His performance againt Brock was not spectacular, but the result showed his tactical strengths and his discipline," evaluated the Russian.
