The results of drug testing done on recent heavyweight title challenger Jameel “Big Time” McCline by the New York State Athletic Commission came back today and he is reportedly “100% clean.” Manager Scott Hirsch says McCline tested negative for any form of steroids in both his pre- and post-fight tests. The day before McCline’s challenge of Samuel Peter for the WBC Heavyweight Championship on October 6 at Madison Square Garden, the New York Daily News broke a story that allegedly linked McCline to having received “more than $12,000 worth of steroids, human growth hormone and other related drugs between 2005 and 2006.” The now-vindicated heavyweight will go forward with a protest to the WBC of his decision loss to Peter, in which he had the Nigerian down three times, yet lost a controversially wide unanimous decision.
