The boxing hotbed of Magdeburg, Germany, has another big event on the horizon. Topping the November 17 "Universum Champions Night" at Bördelandhalle, WBO #2 heavyweight Alexander "Sascha" Dimitrenko (26-0, 16 KOs) from the Universum stable faces his toughest challenge in longtime contender Timo Hoffmann (36-5-1, 20 KOs) of Sauerland Event in an important crossroads bout.

The huge 6'7 super-sized heavyweights faced off today at a press conference to officially announce to fight.

Alexander Dimitrenko: "Finally, I am in Magdeburg. It is my first time. I have always heard about the great fans here. Timo Hoffmann naturally knows me very well. He has already boxed some of my stablemates. He's a big guy and a very experienced boxer. But on November 17th there will only be one winner and that will be me. Becoming a world champion remains my big goal."

Dimitrenko's trainer Fritz Sdunek: "I've known Timo Hoffmann since 1990 and have always followed his career. He has previously faced other boxers of mine in the ring. Timo Hoffmann is like the weather-today rain, tomorrow sunshine."

Timo Hoffmann: "I have already had great success in Magdeburg as an amateur. Finally I'm able to box here as a professional for my fans and friends in a home game. I have much respect for Alexander Dimitrenko, he is a great Boxer and I look forward to this terrific fight.

Hoffmann's trainer Uwe Schuster: "Timo is extremely motivated. He can only win because he doesn't have a load on his shoulders."

Also, WIBF featherweight champion Ina Menzer (18-0, 8 KOs) will defend her title against Laura Serrano (16-3-2, 6 KOs)
