Mexican ring legend Erik Morales said today that he will defeat WBC lightweight champion David Diaz on Saturday night to become the first Mexican and win a world title in four weight divisions. "I feel very comfortable and strong at this weight," commented Morales. "I think you're going to see a good show, I think you're going to see a great fight, and to be very honest with you I really think I can win." Morales said his ring movement and experience in big fights will give him an edge over Diaz and he vowed not to change the exciting style that has made him a boxing superstar. "At 135 pounds, Erik Morales is going to fight the way Erik Morales always fights," he stated. "That's the only way I'm going to fight and I don't think we're going to have any problems at all inside the ring." After losing two straight to Manny Pacquiao, 'El Terrible' revealed that he never discussed hanging up the gloves. "It was more that my body couldn't take the shots because of the strain of making 130 pounds," said Erik about those fights. "We are going to win on Saturday night and that's what's important."
