Steve "USS" Cunningham (20-1, 10 KOs) won the IBF cruiserweight championship by dethroning Krzysztof "Diablo" Wlodarczyk (37-2, 27 KOs) via majority decision at Katowice, Poland. Scores were 116-112, 115-112 for Cunningham and 114-114. Fightnews had it 115-112 for Cunningham. Wlodarczyk had defeated Cunningham by split decision in their previous fight six months ago, but the IBF ruled for an immediate rematch. Like in the first fight Cunningham was throwing many more punches and even though a lot of them were blocked, he was still winning rounds. Wlodarczyk was throwing one punch at a time, but was very ineffective. The Pole took a knee in round four after a left jab that likely hit him with a thumb in the eye. In round seven Wlodarczyk landed a big right and forced Cunningham to clinch. There weren't many exchanges except for the tenth round, when both fighters traded after the bell, and the eleventh round with Cunningham getting the better of them.
