In anticipation of this summer's hottest match-up, Bernard Hopkins and Winky Wright held a press conference in New York on Tuesday, to announce "Coming to Fight" July 21, as part of a 5-city press tour with following stops in Tampa, Washington, DC, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. Below please find comments from each fighter, and see photos attached.

WINKY WRIGHT

On taking on the challenge of a tough fight in Bernard Hopkins…

"I'll never back down. I've never been scared, and I'll never be scared. I'll always come to fight. I didn't pick this fight with Bernard, Bernard picked me.

"Till the day I hang up my gloves, I come to fight and I come to win.

On his opponent…

"All you (Bernard) are is a boogeyman. And after July 21, the Boogey man will rest. Nobody's got to be scared of the Boogey man anymore."

BERNARD HOPKINS

What this fight means to you…

"History shows you're only as good as your last fight. And look at my last fight. I crushed Antonio Tarver.

"I'm in this game because I know I can do it."

On strategy against Wright…

"I've got it all. I'm a chameleon, I've got everything. You try to come at me, I'll Sugar Ray Robinson you. Winky's style is directly in your face, but not that night. He's going to come at me but I won't be there. I'm an illusion..

"I guarantee you won't see Winky Wright after July 21. They talk it but I talk it and I walk it. I'm 42 years old and I'm going to whoop his ass. Doubt me? Check my record.

"It's 2007, I'm 42 years old and I can't wait for you to get your ass whooped by a 42 year old.

Prediction for July 21…

"Come July 21, Winky Wright will be no more. Anyone who's got something against Winky, no worries, as of July 21 Winky Wright is over.

Final thoughts…

"All you (Winky) are is a Twinkie. Winkys a Twinkie."

Hopkins vs. Wright "Coming to Fight" is for Hopkins' Ring magazine light heavyweight belt and will take place Saturday, July 21 at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. CompuBox: 132 Clinches During Hopkins-Wright

It was a fight that had very little flow as Wright attempted to play the aggressor behind his jab and Hopkins relied on quick counterpunches and lots of holding and roughhousing. Wright, bothered by a severe gash over his left eye from a head butt in the third round and obviously not comfortable at the catch weight of 170 pounds, slowed over the final few rounds and Hopkins emerged with a unanimous decision read more ...

Winky Wright: "I Told You Hopkins Was Dirty"

Wright suffered a nasty cut above his left eye after a clash of heads in the third round. He says Hopkins used his head often, hit him with low blows and held often. He received twelve stitches for the cut and bruises that he claims were a direct result of Hopkins' using his head. He doesn't place all the blame on Hopkins, he felt referee Robert Byrd let Hopkins do read more ...

Hopkins promises Joppy-style beatdown against Winky!

Comebacking ring legend Bernard Hopkins says he going to put a beating on Winky Wright in their PPV clash on Saturday in Las Vegas. "He’s not the slickest southpaw that I've fought," stated Hopkins. "I've fought many of them. I think I got nine knockouts out of ten. I had one of the oldest, slickest southpaws in my camp, who’s the second trainer, John David Jackson. I’ve seen every southpaw that I could imagine on tape read more ...
