WBC junior middleweight champ Floyd Mayweather, Jr. is already talking up a rematch with Oscar De La Hoya. In a recent interview with the Associated Press , Mayweather said a rematch with Oscar would be even better than the original because they can fight toe-to-toe. Following the split-decision win over De La Hoya on May 5 in Las Vegas, Mayweather announced his retirement, but vowed to return for a De La Hoya rematch. De La Hoya, 34, has indicated to the press that he is also thinking about retirement after losing three out of his last five fights.

"We had a good fight," Mayweather said. "I think that number two would be even better, because we can fight toe-to-toe. And I really have nothing else to prove in this sport. He wants to talk about part two, he can call me," Mayweather said. "I say there's pride involved. If he tells all you guys he won't come back and fight again, he'll come back and fight me again. That's it."

Bouts with names like Shane Mosley, Miguel Cotto and Antonio Margarito have been thrown around. Mayweather is not interested in any fight, other than a De La Hoya rematch.

Why return only for De La Hoya? Well, HBO recently announced that the De La Hoya-Mayweather pay-per-view did a buyrate record of 2.15 million buys. According to Floyd, the success of the De La Hoya bout will make him between $25 million to $30 million on the fight. More than enough reason to stage a rematch.

"You've got to be business minded," Mayweather said. "Nobody knows Margarito. He's not a draw, so I can't fight anybody like that. Two fighters have to be on a certain plateau to meet up for a fight like this."

Ross Greenburg, the head of HBO Sports, told the AP that he does not think Mayweather will retire.

"It's just starting for him. I think he's teasing all of us," Greenburg said. "You're not in the prime like he is, in life and in the ring, and go on vacation for five years. He'll get itchy. He has a flood of opponents. I mean, line 'em up."
