Mexican ring legend Marco Antonio Barrera says when he faces Juan Manuel Marquez on Saturday in Las Vegas that fans can expect the all action Barrera from the past, not the ring technician version of Barrera who methodically dissected Rocky Juarez in his last fight. "I'm planning to go toe-to-toe in this fight," promises 'The Babyfaced Assassin.' I want to give the fans and everybody in attendance a great, great performance and a great fight. I'm ready to go toe-to-toe from the first round until the end of the twelfth round." Barrera also explained the reason for his clinical, but not particularly exciting strategy against Juarez. "My plan was to box against Rocky and to teach him a lesson," said Marco. "Rocky had made comments that he was going to knock me out, that I didn't win the first fight, that he was robbed....so for the second fight, my team and I decided that we were going to box him and basically beat him with one hand, the left hand. That's what I decided to do and that's the reason why I fought Rocky that way."
For his part, Marquez says doesn't care what style Barrera uses. "I'm ready for anything," he told Fightnews.com. "I'm expecting whatever it is that comes at me. I'm not expecting a one-dimensional Barrera, obviously that Barrera's gone. I'm ready for anything he brings."
