Tsurkan to Face Davis!

NABF Jr. Middleweight Champion Andrey Tsurkan will defend his title against Thomas Davis on December 8 at the Paradise Theater in the Bronx, NY. Tsurkan (24-2, 15 KOs), who is coming off the most important victory of his career, a title-winning TKO 5 over Hector Camacho Jr. will try to improve his #9 World Rating against Davis (10-3-1 6 KO's). "We wanted to give the fans an intriguing match-up for our first show at this beautiful venue and Tsurkan-Davis is just the fight" said promoter Joe DeGuardia. "Andrey's pressure is relentless and his chin is among the best in boxing, but we'll see if it can stand up to Davis' power. Davis has a habit of upsetting the best laid plans of many a contender." DeGuardia says he expects that with a few more victories over notable foes such as Camacho and Davis, Tsurkan will be ready for his first world title shot.
