The comeback of Axel Schulz is over. Although he was non-commital about his future immediately after his sixth round TKO loss to Brian Minto, the popular heavyweight has now decided to abort the comeback that began after a seven year layoff. "This was definitely the end for me," said Schulz. "I won't be doing anymore boxing training. This is enough....I boxed sh**ty. As a boxer, I wasn't so far [along]. I overestimated myself."

Even though the comeback ultimately didn't work out so well, Schulz says he's glad he did it. "It was important that I tried it," he said, "it was, regardless, the most worthwhile year for me." As for the future, the 37-year-old says it's wide open. "Now I'll go back to my wife and daughter. I only had my life planned up to the fight day and not further. Now we'll have to see the rest."
