Belgian Michael Henrotin came from the canvas to get a close but deserved split decision against Roman Shkarupa. It was scored 115-110 for the Ukrainian, while the 2 other judges scored for the visitor by 114-111 and 114-112. The local, roared on by 2000 spectators, started well to win the first two rounds and dropped Henrotin with a right hook in the 3rd round. The Belgian was not hurt but seemed more out of balance and the count woke him up. He won the middle rounds and Shrarupa started to fade. In the last couple of rounds Shkarupa was deducted twice a point by the referee for persistant holding. It was a sweet win for the Belgian who bounced back from an earlier defeat this month against Stas Kashtanov. With the win he claimed the TWBA title.
