Jay Nady will be the third man in the ring during the December 10 WBC heavyweight showdown in Moscow between Russian Oleg Maskaev (33-5, 26 KOs) and Ugandan Peter Okhello (18-4, 16 KOs). Nady, who is widely known among Russian boxing fans, was also the referee during Oleg's sensational KO over Hasim Rahman in the very last round to capture his WBC belt.
Judging the fight will be Evgueni Gorstkov (Russia), Ken Morita (Japan) and Bob Logist (Belgium). WBC president Jose Sulaiman will be present in Moscow, supervising the title clash. The promoter of the show, Vladimir Hrunov, confirmed that Michael Buffer will be announcing the collision inside the squared ring.
There are also some changes in undercard. Unbeaten Olympic super heavyweight gold medallist Alexander Povetkin (9-0, 7 KOs) will now face former IBF cruiserweight titlist Imamu Mayfield (25-7-2, 18 KOs) in ten-rounder. Ross Puritty, who was previously scheduled to face Povetkin, 27, is out due to a severe cut suffered during a sparring session. Mayfield, 34, is coming of the surprisingly hot performance against Poland's Krzysztof Wlodarczyk on March, 25. Ironically, Mayfield was the third man to upset Peter Okhello during his pro career, earning UD 6 over him four years ago.
