In the main event on Saturday's "Heavyweight" Universum Champions Night in Stuttgart, 6'7 WBO Intercontinental champion Alexander Dimitrenko (22-0, 13 KOs) will defend his title for the third time against 6'6" Argentinian Gonzalo Omar Basile, who brings a record of 25-1, 12 KOs.
The heavily tattooed Basile stated at today's press conference, "I am known in Argentina as the devil at heavyweight. Hence, my tattoos. I have a big family, for them I must win!"
However, Dimitrenko was unfazed by Basile's diabolic bodyart. "I will hit them," promised 'Sasha.' "This is my fight!" He added, "When one looks like that, this is almost disgusting. I would never have tattoos of devils and skulls from top to bottom. I believe in God!"
Dimitrenko's trainer Fritz Sdunek said Basile's appearance will not intimidate his fighter. "Alexander has made some good development, however he still needs some time," stated Sdunek. "By the end of next year he'll be ready to face the world champion. He can become a new Klitschko."
Also on the card is the WBA cruiserweight eliminator between Spotlight stablemates Firat Arslan (25-3-1, 17 KOs) and Grigory Drozd (25-0, 20 KOs). Both fighters will risk their top ten positions in the WBA for a chance to challenge WBA/WBC world champion O'Neil Bell. Arslan set the tone for this fight at the first press conference when he stated, "I didn’t come the long, hard way [to this title shot] to be beaten by this guy!"
In another title fight, heavyweights Taras Bidenko (19-2, 10 KOs) faces Andreas Sidon (32-6, 26 KOs) for the WBA Intercontinental title.
Highly regarded super middleweight Jürgen Brähmer (27-1, 22 KOs) returns from his first career setback against Mario Veit in May. Brähmer faces veteran Francisco Antonio Mora (51-10, 35 KO) who should provide a good test for the "hundred-year talent."
Unbeaten heavyweight Dieter Roth (10-0, 7 KOs) steps in for injured Sebastian Köber to face Zoltan Petranyi (34-18, 7 KOs).
The Dutch "Sonny Liston" Richel Hersisia (27-1, 21 KOs) goes against Brasilian Adenilson Rodrigues (19-4, 15 KOs) in a further heavyweight battle.
Finally, unbeaten Spotlight cruiserweight Aleksander Alekseev (6-0, 6 KOs) continues his development against Argentine Luis Oscar Ricali (19-16-2, 13 KOs
