A bloodied Joe Calzaghe of Wales shows the scars of battle after his points win over Australian-based Sakio Bika
"If this fight did not impress HBO, then nothing will," said Kessler's promoter Mogens Palle. "Mikkel did more than dominate. He was a wrecking ball from the opening bell. His right hand was powerful and accurate. Now we will look at all our attractive options." HBO bought the rights to televise Kessler-Beyer, but unfortunately only showed about a 30-second clip following the twelve round Calzaghe-Sakio Bika fight.
Meanwhile Calzaghe, who admittedly was not up to par in his decision win over Bika, said he's looking in another direction. "I am looking forward to coming to America to show I am the real deal. Bernard Hopkins is the man and 100% I would fight him in his own garden if that is what it took to get him into the ring with me. He can fight me next to prevent me from tying his record for consecutive victories or wait one fight to prevent me from surpassing him on the all time list."

Calzaghe survives Bika!
