Three-time WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer could hang up his gloves on Saturday night in Copenhagen -- win or lose. "I never think of a defeat," says Beyer. "However, as a boxer at my age I also don't plan in the long term. I only look fight to fight." The 35-year-old Beyer (24-2-1, 13 KOs) faces his biggest challenge on Saturday evening at Parken Stadium in Copenhagen, Denmark, when he faces taller, stronger, younger and unbeaten 27-year-old WBA champion Mikkel Kessler (37-0, 28 KOs) in a unification superfight. Kessler is a heavy -650 betting favorite at Sportsbook.com and is an overwhelming pick to take Beyer's crown in the Fightnews.com poll. However, not everyone is writing off Beyer just yet. "The situation reminds me a little of the rematch against Danny Green," says ARD commentator Andreas Witte. "There also hardly anyone believed in Markus, and he convincingly came back. I wouldn't put it past him this time either. He is mentally very strong, and with his coach Ulli Wegner, he has certainly thought out some clever tactics."
