M'Baye claims vacant WBA crown

Souleymane M'Baye claimed the vacant WBA junior-welterweight title at the Reebok Arena in Bolton, England on Saturday night when he stopped Raul Balbi in the fourth round.

The 32 year-old Argentine boxer was floored twice, once in the second round and again in the fourth session. Referee Paul Thomas called a halt to the fight shortly after the second knockdown.

M'baye improves to 35-1-(20), while Balbi falls to 54-8-1-(37)

Former WBA jr welter champ Souleymane Mbaye (39-3-1, 21 KOs) won the vacant WBA interim welterweight title with a twelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Antonin Decarie (23-1, 7 KOs) on Friday night at the Palais des Sport Marcel Cerdan in Paris, France.
