Ricky Hatton and promoter Dennis Hobson have accepted an invitation to watch his friend Marco Antonio Barrera rematch with tough rival Rocky Juarez in Las Vegas on September 16.
Barrera was ringside for Hitman Hatton's WBA junior welterweight win over Carlos Maussa in Sheffield last November and Hatton is delighted to be ringside to support his friend in a rematch against the young, powerful Juarez.
September 16 is Mexican Independence Day and many US and Mexican fans call Hatton 'the White Mexican' because of his all action style. .
Hatton said: "When Marco asked me to go out I didn't need asking twice. It will be an honour to support my friend. He's an amazing boxer and a great guy."
The reigning consensus junior welterweight champion and WBA welterweight champion is already in light training for his scheduled December 9 ring return and an opponent is expected to be announced within the next few weeks
