WBC #5/WBA #4/IBF #3 heavyweight Calvin Brock (29-0, 22 KOs) kept his unbeaten recond intact with a rwelve round unanimous decision over previously unbeaten Timur Ibragimov (21-1-1, 13 KOs) Saturday night at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas. A lot of wrestling early. Brock landed some good right hands in round five, and more rights in the sixth, this time staggering Ibragimov. After that point, Ibragimov's punch output went way down and Brock went on to take a methodical 117-111, 119-109, 115-113 decision.

In a mouth-watering WBA welterweight elimination bout, undefeated Carlos Quintana (23-0, 18 KOs) ended the unbeaten run of power-puncher Joel Julio (27-1, 24 KOs). Julio scored a flash knockdown of Quintana with a quick right in round one, but after that the southpaw Quintana used good movement and outboxed Julio for the rest of the twelve rounds, which were contested outdoors in brutal 105-degree heat. Scores were 117-111, 115-112, 118-110. With the win, Quintana earned a title shot against the winner of Ricky Hatton-Oktay Urkal
