Light heavyweight champion Antonio Tarver and challenger Bernard Hopkins met today at a press conference at the ESPN Zone in New York City in advance of Saturday's battle at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey and televised on HBO Pay-Per-View. Tarver stated, "My hard work is almost over and on Saturday night I'll be able to put it on display....I'm facing the best Bernard Hopkins. It's a beautiful opportunity for me to show the world what I'm made of. It's a challenge to me to tell the world that Bernard Hopkins won't see the sixth round. I'm gonna punish him! He's 40 years old and made a dumb move like this. It's over!" Hopkins said, "I said it before, I won't take a challenge I don't think I can win. I'm fighting for the legacy & history. When I beat Tarver, I don't want the belt....I'm ready, I trained hard. I'm gonna prove on June 10th it comes down to the better fighter... the more hungry fighter....I want Tarver at his best. No excuses."
