Freitas edges Raheem!

Former world champion Acelino Freitas (38-1, 32 KOs) won back his former WBO lightweight belt with a twelve round split decision over Zahir Raheem (27-2, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut. Freitas got off to a good start, but Raheem was able to turn the tables in the middle rounds as the pace slowed. Both fighters had their moments down the stretch with the fight ending in a heated exchange. Scores were 116-112, 115-113 Freitas, 115-113 Raheem

Popó to fight Raheem!

Brazilian boxing star Acelino "Popó" Freitas (37-1, 32 KOs) told the Brazilian Boxing Confederation that he will fight Zahir Raheem (27-1, 16 KOs) on April 29 in the United States.
