Upon hearing in the news that he would be fighting in Mexico in the upcoming months, three-time world champion Erik "El Terrible" Morales wanted to make it very clear that the only fight he has in mind is the one against the Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao. Morales said that he never had or has plans to fight in Mexico in the near future. "My next fight will be against Pacquiao in the United States. If anyone is saying anything different they would be lying," said Morales from his office in Tijuana.

The great Mexican champion was responding to comments made by Eric Gomez of Golden Boy Promotions who announced that both Morales and Pacquiao would be fighting different opponents in their home countries in the summer. "With all due respect to Mr. Gomez, he is not my promoter, my promoter is Top Rank and they are the ones who decide my bouts," said Morales. "Right now I'm totally dedicated to my family and some personal business and when I do think about boxing, a third Pacquiao fight is the only thing that's on my mind and I would suggest to Mr. Gomez and his company that they should worry about their fighters and stay out of my business," added Morales.

"I'll fight Pacquiao whenever Top Rank tells me. September or October. All I'm waiting for is the exact date from them so I get ready for the rubber match with Pacquiao," said Morales. "Currently I'm dedicating my time to my family and resting. When the time comes to get ready for Pacquiao that's where my concentration will be at, but for now I will spend as much time as I can with my family," said Morales
