Danny Williams will face Matt Skelton next February in London in a bout which could see the winner handed a shot at a heavyweight world title.
Williams, who beat Audley Harrison earlier this month, was due to face Skelton last July but withdrew late on.
Skelton said: "Me and Danny have unfinished business to settle, so he had better turn up this time."
Williams responded: "I still haven't forgiven Skelton for calling me a 'bottle job' after I withdrew."
British Boxing Board of Control officials accepted Williams' explanation in July that he was suffering from 'flu, but denied him a shot at Skelton's British title for six months.
But the Brixton boxer now looks set for another opportunity, with the fight scheduled for 25 February at the ExCel Arena - where Williams defeated Harrison.
Promoter Frank Warren initially vowed not to work with Williams again following the last-minute pull-out, but is now excited about the chance of the winner having a shot at the world title.
Warren said: "Not only will this establish who is the best in Britain but this is also virtually an eliminator for the world title.
"I have been speaking to Don King and the winner is in line for a world title fight next - that is the golden carrot for both of them."
Williams said: "Unlike Audley Harrison, I look at Skelton as a warrior and I know he will come to have a fight.
"I want to move on and beat Skelton to claim back my number one spot in Britain before fighting for a world title again.
"He will pay for making those comments - painfully."
