Sidorenko, Kotelnik, Abdulaev all make weight!

All championship fighters and the two combatants of the TV main event successfully made weight today at VW-Zentrum Leverkusen for their contests on the Universum event on Saturday at Wilhelm-Dopatka-Halle of Leverkusen, Germany. WBA bantamweight world champion Wladimir Sidorenko, 17-0 (6), from the Ukraine weighed 117.75 for his first title defense against Venezuelan Jose De Jesus Lopez, 21-5 (16), who weighed 117.25. Live on ZDF television, German super middleweight prospect Jürgen Brähmer, 25-0 (21), will do his second comeback fight after a 3-year interruption weighing 168 against Henry Porras, 30-5-1 (22), from Puerto Rico who weighed exactly the same. Clashing for two international championship belts at jr. welterweight (WBA intercontinental and WBO Asian Pacific) Andreas Kotelnik 23-2 (11), weighed 140 for his bout against stablemate Mohamad Abdulaev 15-2 (12), who scaled on at 139.

Bad luck for Michel Trabant. The German welterweight contender of the Universum boxing stable can’t fight the IBF eliminator scheduled for November 26 in Leverkusen, Germany. The 26-year-old man from Berlin suffered a deep cut on his eye during a sparring session on Thursday. The Universum Box-Promotion event on November 26 in Leverkusen, Germany, will have to take place without world title challenger Felix Sturm. The German middleweight star suffered an injury to his left elbow in training.
