Venezuela's Lorenzo Parra kept his WBA flyweight title Monday, outpointing Japan's Takefumi Sakata.

Parra was ahead on two of the three scorecards in the 12-round bout to improve to 26-0 with 17 knockouts. Sakata dropped to 24-3-1 with 10 knockouts.

Scoring the fight for Parra were Guy Jutras (115-113) and Medardo Villalobos (114-113). Judge Silvestre Abainza scored it a draw.

Parra first captured the title in December 2003 when he defeated Eric Morel of the United States.

Narvaez, Parra retain belts!

It was a bad night for French flyweights Monday night in Paris as both previously unbeaten Bernard Inom and Brahim Asloum lost in world title challenges. In the first half of tonight's twinbill, unbeaten WBO flyweight champion Omar Narvaez (20-0-2) retained his title with an eleventh round stoppage of #10 ranked Bernard Inom (13-1).
