DERECK CHISORA has vowed to make Vitali Klitschko look his age after insisting the Ukrainian is not a ring great.

The WBC world heavyweight champion defends his world title on Saturday against Londoner ‘Del Boy’ for the ninth time since ending a four-year retirement in 2008.

Klitschko might be 40 but the 6ft 8ins giant’s reign has been so dominant that no one has come close to inflicting his first defeat since Lennox Lewis cut him to ribbons in 2003.

Klitschko, who has also swatted Brits Herbie Hide (1999) and Danny Williams (2004), is regarded by most critics as better than brother Wladimir who holds the three other titles.

Chisora, 27, insists Vitali should not go down as one of the best heavyweights of all time and has branded his reign ‘boring’.

He said: “The brothers have been great ambassadors for the sport but boxing-wise they are not interesting for the fans. They sell in Germany but I don’t think they would sell anywhere else.

“The Klitschkos might have all the titles but you only make it when you are boxing for those titles in Vegas. Vitali and Wladimir have killed the sport I love.

“People are tired of them because they are boring. It’s time for a new king.

“I’m boxing the better brother and I always wanted to box him because he’s the hardest guy. I have the style to beat him.”

Chisora feels he was robbed of the European title in December after non-stop pressure should have sealed a points win over local hero Robert Helenius in Finland.

And the Zimbabwe-born boxer believes similar tactics will help him pull off a huge upset in Munich.

He added: “If he doesn’t go down I will just keep working. I’m not going there looking for a knockout, I’m going there to out-work this guy. I would leave myself vulnerable by looking for a knockout.

“He’s going to feel the pace by the middle rounds and then I will knock him out in the eighth round.

“A lot of his opponents are defeated before they even walk to the ring but I’m not scared of this guy. I’ve got speed – and speed kills. He will look his age.”

Klitschko insists he is not taking Chisora lightly despite him holding talks with Brit David Haye about a July showdown.

Vitali said: “People aren’t talking about who’ll win, it’s about what round and that’s just not right.

“There are so many examples in boxing history of a champion underestimating the challenger.

“I never underestimate anyone and Chisora is very dangerous.”
