BoxingScene.com has been advised that moments ago, Filipino Johnreil Casimero (16-2, 10KOs) knocked out hometown hero Luis "Mosquito" Lazarte (49-11-2, 18KOs) in the tenth round to capture the vacant IBF junior flyweight championship at Mar del Plata in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Before the victory could be announced, hundreds of Argentine fans rushed the ring and attacked Casimero and his team, the IBF's officials, journalists and everyone else who tried to prevent the violence from getting worse. Chairs, bottles and punches were flying all over the arena, with very little intervention from the few police officers on the scene.

The fight itself was said to be contested on even terms, until Casimero caught him on chin at the end of the ninth round and Lazarte never recovered and barely had the ability to stand in the tenth. Both fighters used dirty tactics in the contest. Lazarte lost a point for biting Casimero on the neck in the sixth round, while the Filipino lost points for fouls in the fourth and eight.
