Jones Jr. wins decision over Alexander

In a cruiserweight clash, four division world champion Roy Jones Jr. (55-8, 40 KOs) outclassed former “Contender” participant Max Alexander (14-6-2, 2 KOs) over ten rounds on Saturday night at the Civic Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The 42-year-old Jones rebounded from three straight losses, taking a ten round unanimous decision by scores of 100-90, 99-91, 100-90. Alexander’s last win was in 2007. Jones claimed the UBO Intercontinental belt with the win.

WBA #4 light heavyweight Ryan “The Irish Outlaw” Coyne (19-0, 8 KOs) scored a second round TKO over former U.S. Olympian Dante Craig (18-11-1, 13 KOs). Coyne dropped Craig in round two and Craig didn’t come out for round three.

Unbeaten cruiserweight Brian Howard (8-0, 6 KOs) scored a quick first round TKO over Sharif Kemp (7-5, 6 KOs). The bout was waved off wih Kemp taking shots on the ropes. Time was 1:37.

Unbeaten local lightweight Chris Howard (14-0-1, 6 KOs) won a split decision over Stephan Alexander (4-4, 4 KOs) in an eight-rounder. Scores were 78-74, 78-74 Howard and 77-75 Alexander.

Heavyweight newcomer Michael Wessel (2-0, 0 KOs) outworked the more experienced 354lb Gabe Brown (18-17-4, 12 KOs) over six rounds to win by scores of 60-54, 58-56, 60-54.

Light heavyweight Tristan Todd (3-0, 1 KO) outpointed Beden Laurent (1-2, 0 KOs) over four rounds by scores of 40-36 on all cards.
