Povetkin KOs Boswell in eighth round

WBA heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin (23-0, 15 KOs) scored an impressive eighth round knockout over Cedric Boswell (35-2, 26 KOs). The former Olympic super heavyweight gold medal winner Povetkin was in command the whole fight. Boswell was staggered in round six and Povetkin further worked him over at the end of the seventh and finally floored him for the count with a barrage of punches at the end of round eight. Time was 2:58.

Unbeaten jr middleweight Jack Culcay (10-0, 6 KOs) destroyed Giammario Grassellini (19-6-2, 10 KOs) in the first round.

WBC/WBA/WBO female welterweight champion Cecilia Braekhus (19-0, 5 KOs) stopped Kuulei Kupihea (7-2, 2 KOs) in round ten. Time was :57.

Heavyweight Edmund Gerber (18-0, 12 KOs) needed just 18 seconds to annihilate journeyman Marcus McGee (23-19, 12 KOs).

Lightweight Edis Tatli (16-0, 3 KOs) outpointed Pasquale Di Silvio (13-4, 5 KOs) by scores of 100-90, 100-92, 98-93.

Welterweight Jussi Koivula (10-0, 3 KOs) defeated Jose Del Rio (12-3, 4 KOs) by scores of 80-72, 80-72 and 78-75 over eight rounds.

Heavyweight Jarno Rosberg (12-0, 4 KOs) outpointed 40-year-old Manuel Alberto Pucheta (35-8, 28 KOs) over eight dull rounds.
