Sturm retains title against Murray with draw

Longtime WBA middleweight champion Felix Sturm (36-2-2, 15 KOs) retained his belt with a twelve round draw against unbeaten Martin Murray (23-0-1, 10 KOs) on Friday night at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Sturm again demonstrated his boxing skills in defending his title for the eleventh time in his third title reign. Murray had his best round in round eight when he rocked Sturm, but the champion recovered by the end of the round. Sturm closed the fight with a strong final round. Scores were 116-112, 115-113 Murray and 114-114.
