In a rematch, unbeaten WBC Silver welterweight belt holder Selcuk Aydin (23-0, 17 KOs) won a twelve round unanimous decision over Ionut “Jo-Jo Dan” Ion (29-2, 16 KOs) on Saturday night at the Spor Salonu in Trabzon, Turkey. Dan fought more aggressively than the first fight, and Aydin was happy to mix it up. Just like in the first fight, Dan was down in round one. Aydin landed the heavier shots while Dan was busier for the rest of the bout. Aydin dropped Dan again in round eleven. Aydin was deducted a point in round twelve. Aydin won their first fight by controversial split decision in June 2010.
Heavyweight Ondrej Pala (30-2, 21 KOs) took a one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Darnell “The Ding-A-Ling Man” Wilson (24-13-3, 20 KOs). Pala was in command all the way en route to a 120-111, 118-110, 118-110 win.
Heavyweight prospect Erkan Teper (7-0, 5 KOs) successfully stepped up in class to stop late sub Cisse Salif (24-19-2, 21 KOs) in two rounds. Teper dropped Salif in round two and the bout was waved off after Teper’s follow-up barrage.
