After eight rounds, Saturday’s clash between WBO welterweight champion Manny Pacquiao and WBO/WBA lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez was tied 76-76 on the cards of judges Robert Hoyle and Dave Moretti, with Glenn Trowbridge having Pacman ahead 77-75. Down the stretch, Hoyle (114-114) awarded both fighters two rounds, while Moretti (115-113) and Trowbridge (116-112) scored three of the last four rounds for Pacquiao. Marquez may have eased up slightly toward the finish after being assured by his corner that he was ahead in the bout.
