Czech light heavyweight Tomas «Jumbo» Adamek (14-1-1, 6 KOs) who is scheduled to clash against WBA Inter-Continental light heavyweight champion Vyacheslav «Steel Power» Uzelkov (21-0, 13 KOs) on October 21st arrived in Kyiv last Saturday, October 17th. We offer your attention a short interview with Adamek.

- How was your trip? How your condition and what is is your mood?
- Thank you, we get here without any problem. My trainer Frantisek Patochka and his assistant came with me. Later, one day before the fight my promoter Jiri Hochmann will join us. I am in a great shape and in fighting mood. My team and I worked very hard preparing for this fight and we came here to win the belt and take it to Prague.

- What do you know about Uzelkov? How much do you know about his boxing style?
- I remember him quite well from the times when we fought at amateur tournaments. We never met in the ring but I know that he was one of the best light heavyweights in the world among amateurs. So since I fought in the same weight class he, of course, drew my attention. My opponent is a fast skilled boxer able to throw and land dangerous power punches.

- Who did you spar with? Were your sparring partners able to emulate Uzelkov’s style?
- I sparred with Sandro Siproshvili and Zhindrich Velitsky and with the best Czech light heavyweight Ondrej Pala as well. The main sparring partner was Siproshvili: he is hard-working and he resembles Uzelkov by style more than others, he is also aggressive and hard-punching.

- You will fight a top class and dangerous boxer on his home turf. Do you think you’ll be able to dominate in the fight convincingly enough to get judges’ nod? Or do you plan to make their task easier and win by stoppage?
- Well, to win by stoppage? Why not? In any case it’s a good idea. However, I came here to win and that is the most important thing. I got a nice chance: in case I come out victorious in the fight against Uzelkov I will join world light heavyweight elite. And if it is necessary to go the full distance in order to win I am ready – I am serious about it.
