JOSHUA CLOTTEY: THE REFEREE WILL WARN HIM FOR HOLDING BEFORE THIS FIGHT IS OVER

GL: How are you feeling less than a week removed from your big fight against Diego Corrales on Showtime Championship Boxing? "I'm ready to go, I'm feeling strong. This is a very important fight for me and I'm going to go all out on Saturday night."

GL: Even though you hurt your hand against Margarito some people feel you still should have gotten the decision you're right back on Showtime. Do you feel blessed for this opportunity and are you looking at this fight as your coming out party?

Joshua Clottey: "I thank God for it because it's a very great blessing. These kind of thing's don't happen a lot in boxing. That's why I'm coming in there to show the world that I truly deserve this opportunity and I'm always ready to fight the best."

GL: Most people I've spoken to are expecting you to win this fight. Does that put any extra pressure on you considering Corrales is coming up from lightweight and has never fought at 147?

JC: "It puts a lot of pressure on me. I'm going to the ring to fight, but everybody is expecting me to win easy or knock him out. I will give it my best and I will give everything to make sure that the people leave happy."

GL: Is your hand 100%?

JC: "100%. We're going to see how it is in the ring, but in sparring on the punching pads and punching bags it has been no problem at all. Everything feels great."

GL: Do you plan on working that right hand early to see how it reacts with the small gloves on?

JC: "You know, if I come to the fight I'm going to let both arms go. I want to fight with the best and I'm coming to do my thing. I want to throw my combinations and the fans will be happy. I know that winning this fight will open up the door for bigger opportunities so I'm going to be at my best on Saturday night."

GL: After you called him a one dimensional fighter, Diego told me that he's got a couple of surprises for you. Are you looking forward to them?

JC: (laughs) "I don't know what he's coming to do in the ring but he's a fighter who only knows how to fight one way. I never seen him fight with a fighter like my type. When he fought Castillo he didn't fight with his head and I don't know how he's coming to fight but I've only seen him fight one way. The only thing that's going to surprise people is that he's going to try to hit me and hold me. The referee is going to have to warn him for holding on before this fight is over."

GL: Is there anything you'd like to say in closing?

JC: "Thanks for the opportunity, I don't know you that well but I really like you. Thank you Showtime, and I want to thank my fans very much."
