14 Apr 2006 16:21       hits 4295 Print version

JA: I know that you were always talking to me about possibly getting the fight with Ricky, now that you have the fight with Ricky how does it feel?
"It feels great. I am getting ready man and I am looking forward to shocking the world on May 13th."

JA: You’re the underdog in this fight. Do you like being in the underdog role?

LC: Definitely. I have been the underdog my whole boxing career. Nobody really gave me a chance and on May 13 the underdog is going to shine in front of the whole world. With a win over Ricky Hatton it will propel my career to a whole nother level.

JA: Is there any added pressure coming into this fight with this fight being an enormous fight?

LC: No I am not under pressure. I think if anything Ricky will be under pressure with this being his first fight in America and with him trying to win the fans in America. I am going to be cooler than the other side of the pillow on May 13th.

JA: I understand that you had a hand injury. How is your hand?

LC: I don’t know where that came from but I never hurt my hand. My hand is fine and I have no idea where that rumor came from.

JA: A lot of people were speculating that you said that so you could get out of the Urkal fight but that isn’t correct right?

LC: Urkal has been ducking me and we took the Hatton fight. Ricky Hatton is going to be the biggest fight of my career and I am ready to get it on.

JA: I heard that the Urkal camp was mad that you pulled out of the fight…

LC: [Cutting In] They can’t be mad. He got the opportunity to fight me and he should have made it happen, the fight between us should have happened 5 months ago but everything kept getting postponed. There was always something coming up with them and I was always ready fight them.

JA: How are things going in camp for you Luis?

LC: Everything is going great. I have been getting great sparring with my good friend Randy Griffin. Randy is getting ready for his mandatory at 160 pounds and we are both working hard in the gym.

JA: This fight is going to be on HBO. Is there any added pressure with this being you first fight on HBO?

LC: There is going to be no difference, believe me. I am going to go in there and do my thing on May 13th.

JA: What’s your prediction for the fight Luis?

LC: You know me James I never predict anything. All I predict is that I am going to do what I got to do and come out with the victory.

JA: Do you think that your style is perfect for Hattons style?

LC: Definitely.

JA: Is there anything that you would like to say in closing Luis?

LC: For all the people out there that don’t believe in Luis Collazo be sure to tune in on May 13th to watch the underdog shine!
