IBF mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin (19-0, 14 KOs) is currently training in New Jersey with Teddy Atlas. Word is he has ten sparring partners. At the end of the month, Team Povetkin will shift operations to Europe. BoxingScene.com has been advised that K2 Promotions won today's IBF ordered purse bid for the September clash between WBO/IBO/IBF heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko and mandatory challenger Alexander Povetkin. K2 put in a winning bid of $8,313,000, and Sauerland Event, who promote Povetkin, put in a bid of $4,250,001. Both sides have 15 days to return contracts.
