WBA welterweight champion Miguel Cotto (29-0, 24 KOs) overcame a spirited effort by mandatory challenger Oktay Urkal (38-4, 11 KOs) at the famous Coliseo Roberto Clemente in San Juan, Puerto Rico. URKAL CONFIRMS HIS INTENT TO FIGHT COTTO

WBA mandatory challenger Oktay Urkal is keen to clash with newly-crowned welterweight champion Miguel Cotto. The 36-year-old German (38-3, 12 KOs), a former European champion, expects to take on his undefeated opponent early next year. WBC super middleweight champion Markus Beyer has just pounded out a unanimous decision over Omar Sheika to retain his world 168lb title at the Internationalen Congress Centrum in Berlin.
