26 Sep 2005 01:09Niida retains WBA minimumweight title. Hasegawa defeats Martinez to keep WBC title
...after 2 minutes, 1 second of the 10th round when Niida inadvertently head butted Gijon, opening a cut above his right eye.
Two judges scored the bout 96-95 for Niida while the other gave it to the challenger 97-93.
Niida improved to 19-1-1 with eight knockouts. Gijon dropped to 21-1-1 with 13 KOs.
