WBA super bantamweight champion Daniel Roman (24-2-1, 9 KOs) in a spectacular battle scored a unanimous decision over the previously undefeated Moises Flores (25-1, 17 KO), who lost the chance to win the title at the weigh-in the day before because of 1 extra pound. Roman and Flores exchanged heavy blows in the center of the ring, but no one could hurt each other. The scores were: 116-112, 118-110, 120-108.

In a controversial ending to an interesting matchup between undefeated beltholders, “regular” WBA Super Bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (18-0, 12 KOs) knocked out WBA Interim Super Bantamweight titlist Moses Flores (25-1, 17 KOs) at the end of the first round with a left hook after the bell. Both fighters threw a punch after the bell sounded, but Flores’ punch did not land while Rigondeaux’s punch did, laying Flores out and immediately ending the fight.

The teams of Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs) and Moisés Flores (25-0, 17 KOs) have reached an agreement to fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super bantamweight championship. Therefore, the purse bid ordered by the WBA Championships Committee for April 3 is suspended. In the coming days, fighter contracts will reach the WBA offices located in Panama City and details for the exact date of the fight will be announced.

The World Championships Committee of the World Boxing Association has called for a purse bid for the fight between WBA super bantamweight super champion Guillermo Rigondeaux (17-0, 11 KOs) and interim champion Moisés Flores (25-0, 17 KOs) on April 3 at WBA Headquarters in Panama City, Panama. The minimum bid is $120,000 with a 75/25 split in favor of Rigondeaux.
