Citing "furor" about the Diego Corrales-Jose Luis Castillo clash, the WBC is naming a committee to review the fight. A WBC press release states, "There have been many protests from most of the press in Mexico and Latin America, as well as the Federal Boxing Commission in regards to the performance of the referee, who, among other things, let approximately 40 seconds go from the moment of the second knockdown to the continuing of the action in the tenth round..." read more ...

It was all we expected. Diego Corrales came back from two knockdowns in the tenth to TKO Jose Luis Castillo in that same round to add the WBC belt to his WBO title on Saturday night at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. Both fighters stood toe-to-toe from the opening bell in an amazing slugfest. Castillo went back to his corner with a cut over his left eye after round four. Corrales started to take the initiative in round five, although both fighters continued to connect with hellacious punches. Castillo came on strong to end round six.
