Long-time WBO 168lb champ Joe Calzaghe successfully retained his title stopping interim champ Mario Veit of Germany moments ago in Braunschweig, Germany. The southpaw Calzaghe (39-0; 31KOs) looked always in control and floored his foe with a vicious left cross at the end of round five. Then, at the beginning of round six the defending champ went all over Veit and the German fighter was down again after a flurry of punches.
