It looks like WBO 175 pound champ Zsolt Erdei (23-0, 14KO) could put his belt on the line against Ukrainan Yuri Barashian (19-2, 12KO) in Düsseldorf, Germany on May 6. The contract hasn’t been signed yet but according to the Hungarian media the promoters have agreed. Barashian was not ranked in the WBO's March ratings. The 31-year-old Hungarian fighter knocked out former world champion, Mehdi Sahnoune in the final round to end a very exciting clash. What happened to Erdei!

After the weighing in on Friday, Erdei had ate steak with mushrooms and drank beef tea at his hotel in Hamburg. But apparently the food may have been stale. The champion had pain in his stomach, serious diarrhea and vomited all Friday night. He woke up his trainer Fritz Sdunek who tried to help, but Erdei’s condition wasn't getting better. read more ...
