Malignaggi vacates IBF title!

In an official letter sent to Groupe Yvon Michel (GYM) and Juan Urango's promoter Seminole Warriors Boxing, the IBF has confirmed that Paul Malignaggi would not be able to grant mandatory challenger Hermann Ngoudjoa rematch and that he therefore will be vacating his belt. Paulie Malignaggi successfully defended his IBF junior-welterweight title Saturday night, unanimously outpointing Canada's Herman Ngoudjo at Bally's Atlantic City Hotel Casino. The Brooklyn fighter received scores of 117-111 from judge Al Bennett, 116-113 from Kenny Chevalier and 115-113 from Steve Weisfeld. Malignaggi underwent surgery in mid-June to repair his fractured right cheekbone.
